Things to Do...Places to See...

So, I was at Borders the other day (I go to bookstores an awful lot these days) and I saw this book entitled "1001 Places to Go Before you Die." This title is not only depressing but, as I was flipping through it, there is a lot of stuff on there that I don't think ANYONE would want to go do. So, I have made a list of my own...in no particular order.

Drive on the German Autobahn

Being married to a nerd and having a dad who likes cars, I have watched a lot of Top Gear in my day. Now, I'm not complaining about that fact because at times it is entertaining, but I know way more about cars than I'd care to at this point in my life. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Top Gear (courtesy of the BBC), it's a car show with these 3 hosts who constantly make fun of one another and find themselves in all sorts of crazy situations. That being said, this show has made me want to rent a crazy expensive car (Bugatti Veyron, anyone?) and drive as fast as possible on this amazing stretch of road! We all have our dreams...

Harry Potter World
I mean, is there really any description necessary? Who hasn't read ALL 7 Harry Potter books and not wanted to go to Hogwarts?? Nobody...

European Alps
Not only do I want to ski in the Swiss Alps (all the cool European families do it!) but ever since seeing Maria spin in circles on top of this gorgeous hillside, I have wanted to do the same exact thing in the same exact place (she's actually in Austria...but they're pretty much neighbors right?). Chances are I would have to be airlifted in because I don't see any nearby roads but who wouldn't want to stand on top of a mountain and sing their heart out??

Spend the Night on a Train
I'm sure in reality, it's a lot less fun than it sounds, but it's just something I've always wanted to do. I have this vision that a sleeper train is a lot better than trying to sleep in a car. In a car, it is impossible to get comfy...no matter which way you face or how you contort your body. Then when you finally get to where you're going, you're grumpy and irritable because you've been attempting to sleep in a car all night when in reality you've been up for 36 hours. BUT, when you take a train, you fall asleep quickly and comfortably and, voila!, you wake up at your intended destination rested and ready for adventure!!

I'm not really picky as to where my sleeper train takes me, but as long as it's somewhere similar to the Polar Express, I'll be happy :)

Well, there are so many other things I want to do and places and I want to see but those are definitely my top four. We'll see if they ever happen!!!

For now, I'm content being the Real ApartmentWife of Katy!

It's been too long...

So much has happened for me (and Ben of course!) in the year+ that I have not blogged. Sorry!!

*January 2nd, 2010, we got married!

*Ben moved into the beloved 1213 duplex!

*I student taught a Kindergarten class which I absolutely loved. I now want to teach Kindergarten here in Katy! (This is my class and on my last day I gave them glow bracelets, so the second picture they are showing off their glow bracelets!)

*On May 15th, 2010 I graduated from Texas A&M University! Whoop!!

*Ben and I moved to Katy, TX so that he could begin his co-op at Thomas Instruments in Brookshire, TX. I am currently in the process of looking for a teaching job in the area but for the summer at least I am a nanny for a family in Cypress! I am looking forward to having some down time after 4 (really 16) years of continuous school!!

On a different note, Ben and I visited a church today, Fellowship Bible Church, 5 minutes down the road from our house and we really liked it! It's small (which is what we were looking for; no megachurches for us :), friendly, and we felt really welcomed! I hope that this is somewhere that we can be a part of for the next year at least! We also need to meet some people in the area so I hope that this can lead to some new friendships!

Until next time! (Hopefully not a year :)

Engagement Pictures!

So, Ben and I took some engagement pictures to use for various things so I thought I would share some!! Also, this past week we went to four different bakeries in search of the Perfect wedding cake! Needless to say, I am all cake-d out for a while! BUT, they were so good!!

March 4, 2009

Sorry guys! I know it's been a while but this is just a little update!

Believe it or not, I have had some wedding planning time thrown in there..so far I have:

1. a Dress!!
2. A (n expensive) photographer
3. A location
4. Blocked hotel rooms
5. Four bridesmaids
6. A date
AND
7. Colors...Purple and Silver

Spring Break I'm hoping to get a lot more done so that I won't have to worry about it again until Summer! I cannot believe that I leave for New York one week from tomorrow...I'm spending quality time with my family in New York visiting Tyler! Woo Hoo!

Well, one of my kiddos asked me today, "Ms. Libbi, why do you eat so much?" so I guess I better go work out or something! Haha! I promise I will put some sort of picture up before too long...I know my blog is boring!

Oh, and Ben called me a human dice yesterday because whenever I have to decide something, I just shake my head and whatever answer lands up...that's what happens. I don't think so...haha! Just thought I'd let you know! Ben and his analogies...

Weekend Fun

I can't believe it's only been two weeks since I got engaged! I guess we've been doing so much because I actually have to go back to school soon and can't spend my days wedding planning! One of my friends said the other day that she's going to quit school so she can spend the whole semester planning my wedding...I wish! Also, having two friends who are working on planning their own weddings at the same time is so much fun! Thanks goodness for people who know what they're doing!

Anyway, I went to the bridal show in Houston this weekend and it was cra-zy! I stood in line to register for a good half hour...but I guess it was worth it because I got some good ideas and hopefully I won some door prizes!! Wishful thinking...

More to come later!
